Nature Expeditions International (NEI) has been in business since 1973. Since then, we have been providing thousands of active, inquisitive travelers with adventurous and educational experiences worldwide related to culture and history, family fun, nature and wildlife, special occasions and more.

How do NEI travel experiences differ from other kinds of vacation packages?

Our expeditions stand out from those offered by others in four distinct ways. We offer a greater variety of custom adventures for people of all ages. Those programs include hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, swimming with dolphins, trekking with camels and elephants, ziplining and more. Our cultural experiences go beyond visiting the must-see sights and may include cooking classes, a music seminar, dance lessons or other participatory activities and are highly educational. We also offer travelers the flexibility to depart anytime of their choosing and tailor itineraries to our clients' interests, desired activity levels and budgets.

Who will lead my trip?

We employ the best-informed and friendliest guides you’ll find anywhere. On many expeditions, you’ll have several local guides who each provide you with insights to his or her area’s natural and cultural attractions. If you’re interested in a particular subject (e.g., birding, botany), we work closely with you to ensure that your guide’s knowledge level, experience and educational background match your preferences.

What is the profile of the typical NEI traveler?

With few exceptions, our travelers reside in the United States and Canada. They come from diverse backgrounds, are well-educated, inquisitive, enthusiastic and in search of adventure and in heightening their understanding of interesting places. Our clients travel as couples, in families, solo, in groups of friends and in organizational groups such as zoos and theater classes. The common thread among NEI travelers is that they are explorers eager to immerse themselves in environments completely different from their own.

What are the benefits of your independent travel programs?

As with group tours, our independent tours include airport transfers and sightseeing excursions with expert guides. The NEI traveler, however, receives more personalized service than people on group tours. Additionally, we can customize itineraries to travelers’ activity preferences, choices of travel dates and categories of accommodations.
